What can I say about Norway and Battle In Line? Well I think the best way to describe it would be: WOW.
From the train ride over, the sightseeing tour with Raymond, to the hotel, competition, party and everything in between. It was all very very nice.
This weekend, for me, there was a chance to (really) talk to, laugh with, eat with, dance with and (of course) hug with my dance family. Some I've known for almost 20 years and some I've met this weekend. It was all good fun.
And what to say about the competition.....Well actually, I thought I improved, and thankfully so did Roy, hahaha. It's still not enough, but I feel that now I am making progress. I need more strength in my legs/body and more spunk. But nevertheless it is progress and I am happy with it.
Ok, here's a, not so small recap, hahaha.
We, my sister Barbara and I, had to get up at 3 am on Thursday to go to the airport. After we went through security, we had to do some shopping, because It's also a sort of mini vacation, haha. The plane departed on time and we were off to Norway.
After a train ride and al little walk, we arrived at the Scandic Bergen City hotel. We were too early and our rooms were not ready yet, so we sat by the fireplace and read a book to kill the time.
After a bit Raymond came and joined us, which was really nice, we had some quality time with him :) It was long overdue, because he is always very busy.
At one o clock Raymond let our sight seeing tour through Bergen. It was a really long walk, but well worth it. Bergen is a beautiful city. We took photo's, went to some tourist shops and finished at a sushi restaurant.
It was a very good beginning of a very good weekend. Thursday we had dinner at Peppes, I had a really really really nice pizza, jammieee. When we returned to the hotel we were exhausted, we had walked almost 20.000 steps that day, hahaha. Friday morning we just had to do some extra shopping and made an extra couple of thousand steps. Which, I can tell you is not a good idea if you have to compete Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My legs were killing me.
Friday the competition started and more and more people were arriving. The atmosphere was really good. The rest of the weekend was really the same, lot's of fun and good times.
The party on Saturday was also very nice.
We learned a great dance by Tomas Sevre who, to our surprise made a dance to the Kiss song, Heaven's On Fire, wow.
DJ Henrik Grønvold taught me his dance Vikings: because it is one of my favorite songs this moment. It is from The Miracle of Sound, and they played the version with Payton Parrish, which is absolutely my favourite version (sorry Henrik).
Sunday, after the competition we went to the sushi place again, with a bunch of people.
I laughed so hard, I almost fell of my chair, not once, not twice but a couple of times.
Unfortunately on Sunday we always have to say goodbye to everyone, sometimes that is hard.
Monday at the airport with a few others from several countries was, good. I really regret not Buying a book I saw, hahahaha.
But in a little over three weeks it is time for the Dutch Dance Explosion, where I will see a lot of my sweet dancefamily and friends again. Until then I have some pictures to keep my spirits up and I really need to train hard, hahah.
Soooooowwww see ya soon
Love,
Patricia
